| Background: | Malawi fully implemented the global strategy of ‘Roll Back Malaria’, which is aimed at reducing the burden of malaria by half in 2010. The major goal included, meeting targets for prompt treatment, ensuring proper chemoprophylaxis for pregnant women and increase ITN coverage.To achieve the above goal Malawi committed to strengthening capacity of the health system, building partnerships within the health sector and other partners, data collection, monitoring, and research, expanding Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), expanding net coverage and ensuring availability all the time through introducing free nets for new born babies and pregnant women policy, improving malaria drug supply and proper utilization and ensuring early management of malaria symptoms both at community and facility levels.Having implemented the project for 2 years, Jimat was commissioned to conduct a final evaluation of the project. |
| Objectives: | The evaluation seeks to answer a number of questions of relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact, and sustainability of the programme. Furthermore, the evaluation seeks to capture best practices and lessons learned from programme as well as draw conclusions and make recommendations to be used by key stakeholders. |
