Jimat is currently leading a pioneering initiative in Mozambique that encompasses 160 schools. This project stands as a testament to our profound expertise in both local and international consultancy, underscoring our steadfast dedication to effecting meaningful change in the realms of education and child nutrition.
This project, known as the Final Evaluation Study of the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Project (McGovern-Dole Project), notably focusing on the Educating Children Together Phase III (ECT3) program, has been entrusted to Jimat. Operating within the districts of Nacarroa and Muecate in the Nampula province, this endeavor marks a significant step towards enhancing educational outcomes and child well-being.
The project’s primary objectives are diverse, aiming to elevate literacy levels among school-age children, enhance the quality of literacy instruction, boost student attentiveness and attendance through school feeding programs, and reinforce health and dietary practices via targeted training sessions for health workers and communities.
Moreover, the project strives to augment awareness of safe food preparation and storage practices, provide essential tools and equipment for food preparation, upgrade water and sanitation facilities in schools, and advance preventive health interventions through the provision of teaching meals and training materials. Jimat will present the project’s evaluation findings, conclusions, recommendations, lessons learned, and best practices to stakeholders, including a tailored presentation for the USDA team, a key contributor of education resources.
This project continues to underscore Jimat’s dedication to sustainable development and community empowerment, emphasizing the significance of education, health, and well-being for children and communities in Mozambique and beyond. The project is scheduled to conclude by the end of 2024.
