TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO SADC REGIONAL VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT AND ANALYSIS
Cardno has a 9.7 million contract with DFID to manage a fund and provide technical services to assist SADC (Southern African Development Community) RVAA (Regional Vulnerability Assessment and Analysis) PMU (Programme Management Unit) to manage and implement DFID/SDC support to SADC RVAA Strategy to enhance regional and national response to climate change, poverty and livelihood vulnerability across the region, as part of Scaling-up Climate Smart Agriculture in Eastern and Southern Africa programme. The aims of the RVAA project: National VAA procedures operational and outputs reflected in policy and programmes; RVAA output accessible and communicated. The objective was to assist SADC RVAA PMU to manage and implement DFIDs support to the SADC RVAA Strategy to enhance regional and national response to climate change, poverty and livelihood vulnerability. Jimat, on behalf of Cardno, provided support to the ZiMVAC enabling them to implement the activity as per the approved concept note and budget.
